About State Chapters
Find your State Chapter
A Secular Coalition for America state chapter is unlike any other nontheistic state organization—it brings together secular organizations and individuals for the exclusive purpose of lobbying government officials.
The purpose of each chapter is to advocate for separation of church and state and evidence-based policy, while also bringing visibility of and respect for the secular community.
Chapters of the Secular Coalition monitor and respond to relevant legislation through Action Alerts and in-person lobby visits, educate lawmakers about their religiously unaffiliated constituents and the secular issues they care about, and publish letters to the editor and op-eds in local media outlets to bring the secular perspective to our issues.
All the issues the Secular Coalition for America and its state chapters advocate for are outlined, along with policy recommendations, in the Secular Coalition’s Model Secular Policy Guide.
